Feast Day Celebration - 2024 - 07/14/2024
St. Vladimir Orthodox Church, Trenton, NJ celebrated their Feast Day Sunday, July 15 and Monday, July 16 with a special visit from His Eminence, Archbishop Michael (Dahulich), Archbishop of New York and the Diocese of New York and New Jersey.
Children greeted him with smiles and while throwing rose petals, escorted him to the Temple. There he was greeted in the traditional manner; with flowers, salt and bread. V. Rev. Volodymyr Chaikivskyi, Rector, Rev. Bohdan Chaikivskyi and V. Rev. Paul Shafran, Pastor Emeritus offered words of welcome and joy.
A hierarchical Divine Liturgy was served, during which Fr. Bohdan was awarded the Nabedrennik. A Nabedrennik is a stiffened square cloth worn on the left side via a long loop of cloth placed over the right shoulder. This is a cleric award so is not worn by all priests.
After the service, a banquet was served in honor of our patron saint, St. Vladimir, and in honor of our beloved Archbishop's visit.
Many years to all!

We celebrate our risen Lord as we accept the light of Christ and form a midnight procession around the church declaring, "Christ is Risen from the Dead...."
We re-enter the church exclaiming "Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!" and hear the sermon of St. John Chrysostom to prepare for the Paschal Divine Liturgy.
"O Christ, Great and Most Holy Pascha. O Wisdom, Word and Power of God, grant that we may more perfectly partake of Thee in the never-ending day of The Kingdom."

We learn of God's love for us through the Last Supper of Christ, where he established the sacrament of Holy Communion.
Our new commandment is to "love one another."
